Muscle Disease

An electromyogram (EMG) measures the electrical activity of muscles at rest and during movement, while nerve conduction studies determine how effectively and rapidly nerves transmit electrical signals.

Nerves send electrical impulses to control muscles, prompting specific movements and reactions. Abnormal muscle responses caused by nerve or muscle disease can indicate underlying issues.

If you are experiencing leg pain or numbness, you may undergo tests to determine which nerves are affected and to what extent. These tests assess the functionality of your spinal nerves, as well as the nerves in your arms and legs.
